The Town of Milford is concerned that landowners who are planning a tree harvest on their property take the necessary steps to protect their interests, accomplish their desired goals and adhere to pertinent state local regulations. Timber harvesting in New Hampshire is affected by a number of laws that relate specifically to harvesting activities. Along with laws, wetlands regulations also frequently are involved. If the land is being harvested to prepare it for development, there are additional state and local regulations that apply. As the property owner of record you are responsible for payment of the timber tax, for obtaining the necessary permits, and for any violations of regulations regarding wetlands and erosion.
